How It Works:
-
Echinacea activates key components of the immune system:
T Cells and B Cells: It stimulates T cells and B cells, enhancing the immune system’s ability to fight off infections.
Macrophages: Promotes macrophage activity to engulf and destroy harmful invaders like viruses and bacteria.
Systemic Immune Stimulant: Strengthens immune response throughout the body, making it especially effective during cold and flu season.
-
Clears the Blood: Echinacea helps the body remove dead viruses and bacteria, reducing overall pathogen load.
Decreases Swelling in the Lymphatics: By promoting lymphatic drainage, echinacea reduces inflammation and swelling, supporting a healthier immune response.
Stimulates Blood Flow: Encourages blood circulation to the periphery, ensuring the immune system can reach and protect every part of the body.
-
Research suggests Echinacea may reduce the duration of cold symptoms by about 1.4 days on average. Regular use may decrease the risk of developing colds or reduce symptom severity.
Rebecca’s Tips:
When someone in my house is sick or one of my clients coughs on me during a visit or when I otherwise think I might be exposed to illness, I take 1–2 droppers full twice daily for a few days until I feel like I am in the clear. At the onset of cold symptoms, I will take 1-2 droppers full every few hours while I am awake to try to kick it as soon as possible. As I begin to feel better, I wean the dosage.
