How It Works
-
Yarrow promotes tissue regeneration and helps prevent infection. It can be applied topically (diluted) for cuts and scrapes or even bleeding gums. A natural alternative to over-the-counter antiseptics.
-
Used postpartum for its ability to tone tissues and reduce excessive bleeding. Included in our postpartum v-steam formula for this reason.
-
As an antispasmodic, Yarrow helps soothe cramping and relieve discomfort associated with irritable bowel or menstrual tension.
-
Yarrow can stimulate gentle perspiration to help reduce fever, and its ability to move and dry fluids makes it helpful for clearing mucus during viral illness.
Rebecca's Tips:
I always have a bottle of Yarrow tincture on hand in my medicine cabinet to act as a natural neosporin. It helps to disinfect wounds- you can dilute it in some water to wash cuts and scrapes. It helps stop bleeding when nicked by a razor (or you picked a pimple and it’s bleeding)- put the tincture directly on a Q-tip and apply pressure. I’ve used a yarrow tincture soaked Q-tip as well for bleeding gums when my kids have had orthodontic procedures or lost teeth.
